The original novel is all about the political, social and ethical commentary which works with the nature of good and evil. The story is centred around Elphaba who was always misunderstood, smart, fiery, with emerald-green skin and on the other hand, Galinda, who was a beautiful blonde, popular girl. The story is divided into four sections based on the plot locations and present events where the film got adapted in new different ways.

Most of the drafts looked into and adapted Maguire’s ideas of retelling the story, which was done from the perspective of the main villain.
